This section is dedicated to ‘specials’ and concentrates on those gearboxes that are made for the ‘something a little different’ locomotives.

For example with the new ‘Gladiator Kits’ Garratt coming out recently we have developed a gearbox which will fit on the leading axle with the motor hidden between the cylinders. The gearbox for the ‘Swanage Model Co’ Stirling Single fits on the driving axle with the motor horizontal pointing back towards the cab. For the ‘Martin Finney’ Broad Gauge Rover the gearbox has been slimmed down to fit between the cranks of the driving axle with the motor fitted vertically into the firebox.
